Ajere Washing Station, Yirgacheffe Grade 1, Heirloom
Founded in 1998 by Amare Tesema, Ajere Washing Station has become an important hub for coffee producers in the Gedeo Zone. Today, between 800 and 850 smallholder farmers deliver their cherries to the 1.9-hectare station, where quality-focused processing brings out the distinctive character of the region's coffees.
Beyond coffee production, Ajere Washing Station plays an active role in supporting the local community, including initiatives such as the construction of new classrooms for local schools.
