Chire is a highland region located in Kere Woreda, within the renowned Sidamo coffee-growing area, celebrated for its exceptional Ethiopian specialty coffee. The Chire Washing Station processes both high-quality washed and natural coffees, classified as Grade 1 and Grade 2. More than 900 smallholder farmers, cultivating plots of one to two hectares, contribute their harvest to the station. Beyond coffee, the fertile lands of Chire also support the growth of false bananas and avocados, enriching the region’s agricultural diversity and sustaining local livelihoods.
