Kerala, Cherry A

Grown between 700 and 2,100 masl in the hilly landscape of Wayanad, Kerala, on black and red soils, this FairTrade & Organic Robusta is hand-picked during the main crop from January to February and naturally processed — dried as whole cherry, then hulled to remove the dried husk. It comes from a cooperative of 9,638 small-scale farmers supported by Biowin Agro Research, a non-profit under the Catholic Diocese of Manananthavady continuing the organic certification work of the Wayanad Social Service Society.

After drying, the coffee is cleaned, destoned, hulled, and sorted by gravity and color for a clean, consistent Grade A lot. Biowin's mission goes beyond quality: a fair supply chain for small-scale farmers, paired with shade management, water conservation, and crop diversification against climate change.
