Nensebo Washing Station, Sidamo Grade 2, max. 6 def., Organic, SCA 85+, Washed
The Nensebo Washing Station is located in Ethiopia’s West Arsi Zone and sources coffee cherries from the highlands around Habera Hada, at an altitude of 1,900–2,300 meters. Rich red soils and young coffee plants growing on gentle slopes give this coffee from the Sidamo region great potential in the cup, supported by the clean water of the nearby Limowa stream.
The ripe cherries are hand-picked, sorted by density, and then pulped. They are subsequently soaked for approximately 60 hours to remove the remaining fruit before being dried on raised drying beds. The washed process results in a clean cup with a lighter body.
Tega & Tula invests 5% of its annual revenue in community projects and uses water-saving, solar-powered methods in its processing.
